I'm curious about Lugal-a'abba. The name came up in the past here enenuru.proboards.com/thread/581/query-identity-lugalida-lugal-idaWould youa assume the name is either another name of Ea, or of some other deity paired with Ea unde the name Lugal-ida, or is there anything to attest this deity to have been separate from any of the "bigger" gods ?

The article states that he is often paired with Lugal-idda (king of the river) or with Lugal-ḫubur (king of ḫubur /underworld river). No connection to one of the greater gods is mentioned.

Are there any more specific instances of forests in Mesopotamia associated with specific gods beyond the obvious exception of the Cedar Woods ? I don't remember this phrase ever being used.
Still a very odd choice to namedrop in a letter as opposed to any of the more important deities like Humban.

Also considering Mardula'anki, I've found a lot of places reffer to Namtar as the son of Ereškigal, though admittedly his parentage seems very confusing.
Mind you Mardula'anki only shows up in blogs when typing it into google.

A short note. I will allow the lists to have double-ups. It is too time consuming to check them all. Example here is Ningublaga. Some of his names, like dlugal-baḫar, are listed under their respective letters as well and will remain there. In other news, i have finished RlA8. Next will be working through the divinities i found under "Mondgottheiten" and "Muttergöttin", after that, RlA9. Which will be hellish I may dream of NIN

Well, RlA8 labels them as servants. Maybe they will also appear in RlA9 with a more detailed description. If you have a citation for your statement, this is the place to post it.

Since this is frequently mentioned in the tables, a short explanation. Text is from oraccAn = Anum Important compendium that lists ancient Mesopotamian deities. Mesopotamian religion was polytheistic. Thousands of gods and goddesses appear in the written record throughout the three millennia of Mesopotamian history. Ancient scribes compiled long lists with the names of these deities. The god list An = Anum was first compiled in the Middle Babylonian period and consists of a total of seven tablets (see An = Anum on the Digital Corpus of Cuneiform Lexical Lists). It is a thematic, two-column list, with the left column containing the names of Sumerian deities, and the right column their Akkadian equivalents. The title is taken from its first entry that names An, the Sumerian sky god, and his Akkadian equivalent Anum. The most recent scholarly edition can be found in Litke 1998.
