I have a new forum centered on Ancient Egypt with an intent like this one to explore its culture, as well as anthropology and genetics. egyptnet.proboards.comI'm really glad I found this informative forum, and I'm making a note to members and observant guests of mine about it if they wish to know anything about ancient Mesopotamian cultures.

Nice job, academic Egyptology is a good idea for a forum. I'm not sure if there even are any other such dedicated Egyptology forums around, yours might be the first.

Nice site indeed. I will recommend it to the interested. Unlike the Assyriology, the Egyptology is well-developed in my country. Though my amateur researcher's heart belongs to the early Mesopotamia, when I have enough time I do some parallel research in the other Bronze Age cultures as well, so I can join your forum later.

Hello Omshanti -
Best of luck with your new Egyptology forum. I can tell you from my experienced with enenuru that it is possible to keep an interesting forum going for years (5 years now) even with something as obscure as academic Mesopotamian studies. You may have slightly less of a challenge with academic Egyptian studies, although the Egyptians visibility in the popular imagination doesn't necessarily translate to the sort of academic input you may be hoping for.
I would make one suggestion though, and that is when you have the chance always try and share your enthusiasm and learning with your board , even in times when it looks like no one is reading or no one will end up reading your input. There been times in the last years when enenuru almost seemed like my private notebook as oppose the forum I've wanted - but those times pass and new people come or old members suddenly post something brilliant - luckily by now some of my members keep things going when I must attend to life developments. So just keep reading and note taking no matter what it looks like on a given day, and the enthusiasm will eventually be returned.
Best regards.

Yes, what Ushegal says. And as for Ushegal, don't you dare get rid of the forum if you start thinking its going dead. We've got something good going on here. Serious discussions and a place for people to learn serious things. It's hard to find on this subject, I have yet to find a similar forum on Sumerian let alone Mesopotamian and Canaanite studies, that is as serious and scholarly.
