Hey everyone: Thought I would make a note on a another author who adds yet more occult volumes on the subject of Mesopotamian magic and in the general line of Simon or of Michael Ford (who as we noted last year, thanked enenuru in the preface of the book but nonetheless proceeded in an entirely non-academic spirit). One could argue that these books of course are not meant to be academic, but in my opinion, that's already a problem. If one goes on amazon.com and types in Mesopotamian magic you will find, elbowing Tzvi Abusch's 1999 volume Mesopotamian Magic... out of the way, a new book by Joshua free entitled: Mesopotamian Magic: A Comprehensive Course in Sumerian & Babylonian Mardukite Systems of Ancient Magick & Religion Can't really explain what the so called Mardukites are as the author's youtube explanation includes rather pathetic audio quality - however a sympathetic site, mardukite.com, rambles on about the Anunnaki and the Necronomicon and so on. As usual it seems like the occult public will entertain yet another crackpot as long as they don't have to read anything particularly dense from ANE studies. 0_0

Such books are problematic from an occult view as well. I doubt if somebody who uses Simon's "Necronomicon" which fable is based mostly on Enuma Elish, has taken any pains to read and investigate Enuma Elish itself. I really wonder why the so called occultists who pretend to be interested in the ancient traditions do not explore the authentic sources to get insight thereby but satisfy with second hand information produced by wishful thinking and superficiality. No occult results justify superficiality - such results are dubious in themselves and the only real result is enriching the publisher.
