I wanted to tatto the numbers on me but there are so many kinds that i don't even know which one is the correct one. Is the first one nr.1 correct or the second one nr.2? I was also interested in ama-gi or ama-ar-gi (return to your mother) and wondered which one of these three is correct? Thank you for any help. Attachments:

The numbers are identical. On the second picture 1 and 3 is AMA.GI4 and 2 is AMA.AR.GI4. Where did you get this picture from?

The numbers are identical. On the second picture 1 and 3 is AMA.GI 4 and 2 is AMA.AR.GI 4.Where did you get this picture from?
I searched for amagi and put all 3 of them in 1 picture just to compare which is right. 1 and 3 look different, i mean if you look at the bottom right, you can see 3 nails in the 1st and 2 nails in the 3rd one. Also the letters are placed differently, are you sure they are the same word? So what is the difference between AMA.GI4 and AMA.AR.GI4? What does both of them mean and which one is fit to be tattoed? Thanks again.

I believe AMA.GI4 and AMA.AR.GI4 are two different spellings of the same word. 1 and 3 may look different, but are the same. Cuneiform was written over a long period of time, changes in style happened, so there is no "definitive" way of writing it. To give you an idea, look at the picture below (Labat, Manuel d'epigraphie akkadienne). They all are AMA, from early cuneiform (4th millennium BCE, left) to Neo Assyrian (1st millennium BCE, right). They look totally different but are all the right one

Very interesting, and ''AMA'' stands for ''mother'' right? There was another thing that I wondered, why is there a number like 4 in the end of amagi? what does the numbers mean for words?
I wanted to ask for your opinion because you seem like a good expert, do you think tattoing the 5 mesopotamian numbers on each of my fingers a good idea or would it look kinda weird? I thought about starting 1 from the lil finger all the way to 5 on the thumb.
About Amagi. People have mentioned that it has many different meanings but I want to know your personal opinion what you think it really means? freedom or return to family?
Do you think that there is more words that look better and have a better meaning as a tatto? I want words that symbolise my struggle in life and to honour ancient Mesopotamia.
Thank you a lot sheshki for taking your time, what does your name mean btw?

Very interesting, and ''AMA'' stands for ''mother'' right? yes, AMA means mother. go here>>> ePSD and type in ama to check. There was another thing that I wondered, why is there a number like 4 in the end of amagi? what does the numbers mean for words? The number 4 belongs to GI. It means that there are at least 4 different signs that can be used reading GI, probably more. For example: GI GI 2
GI 3
GI 4 I wanted to ask for your opinion because you seem like a good expert, do you think tattoing the 5 mesopotamian numbers on each of my fingers a good idea or would it look kinda weird? I thought about starting 1 from the lil finger all the way to 5 on the thumb. Here is my opinion: Why would one do that? Are you trying to give people the impression you are still using your fingers to count? About Amagi. People have mentioned that it has many different meanings but I want to know your personal opinion what you think it really means? freedom or return to family? Please read through >>> this post or summarised: AMA-GI 4 has nothing to do with modern definition of freedom. Do you think that there is more words that look better and have a better meaning as a tatto? I want words that symbolise my struggle in life and to honour ancient Mesopotamia. I´m sure there are other and better words as a tattoo. But since i am not you, and i don´t know you i can´t say it is this or that word. I suggest start reading, i.e. about mesopotamian literature, and eventually the right words will come to you. This has worked for me, and i now do know what is written on my body which is a satisfactory feeling. Maybe start here: ETCSLThank you a lot sheshki for taking your time, what does your name mean btw? It literally means "Brother of earth", It´s one of the names of the moon god. I chose it because my real name is not writeable in cuneiform since they do not have an F.
