Recently, I've been researching more about the Assyrian religion and attributes of it, and I've found this article by Simo Parpola: www.assyriatimesforum.com/bbs/index.pl/noframes/read/1942It seems quite interesting, and I'd like to know more about concepts of divinity in ancient Assyria, like what did they exactly believe in about divinity, did they have something like monotheism, or was it purely polytheistic, or was it something else entirely?. If you can recommend anything to learn more, I'd really appreciate it, either about concepts of divinity in Assyria or Mesopotamia in general. Thanks.

I think that the ancient assyrians were monolatrous and at times monotheist, but to me it is a bit confusing because they had more than one god. I think there was a specific period of monotheism where Asshur alone was worshipped. Recent reading has lead me to rethink that though.
