As Recons we all have a bit of a need to mix worship and research. So, in an effort to determine some basic Sumerian rituals we can perform in our homes I think we should look at the rituals of the Ancient Sumerians and the rituals we currently use and determine how they can be improved.

I'm glad this topic was started, as I'm really interested in this (I no very little about what rituals (daily and holiday) the ancient Sumerians performed so, I have no idea how to adapt them for the modern world).
Looking forward to seeing the discussions.

** Moved from 'Pool the Resources thread/Mesopotamian Magic board. This post was made for this thread Posted by Saharda, may 12:*** I think another important element when analyzing Sumerian magic is Sumerian Religious and cultural practices. That is to say we know that the Sumerians used Sympathetic magic extensively in the form of Idolatry. You can also see the use of contagion in how some Akkadians copied texts that they couldn't necessarily read. Oh and PS. About my month of silence. A relative just recently died and I have had more problems related to that than you could guess, but that is not a subject for this thread. I should probably start a thread about Sumerians and death.
