Hey e n e n u r u - The full title of the paper I am uploading (which doesn't fit in the proboards topic bar) is: Disease, Disorder and Disruption in the E2 - Mapping the House in Mesopotamian Incantation Literature. I wrote the paper for Professor Heather Baker in a course I took with her last fall, NMC1022 The Babylonian City. The course really focuses on housing in late Babylonia, Baker's area of expertise. My paper is actually focused on Old Babylonian material (I lost some marks because of that) because I wanted to build a context first and then move to later material, but as it turns out I stayed in the early period for the most part. This paper explores the occurrences of demons and agents of illness in the Old Babylonian incantation texts, and I endeavored to read basically every published OB incantation text as is explained in the work. The paper highlights texts which seem to be concerned with intrusions into the center of the house, particularly those dealing with the distruption of the household god, the centerpoint of private religion within Mesopotamia. An up to date Old Babylonian catalogue is provided in the appendix.
