I was wondering as to the nature of the various priestly positions and offices that existed in Babylonia in the Kassite period, that is which offices were still retained from the period of the Amorite dynasty etc.
I am trying to write a story centering around Agum II/Agum Kakrime and his restoration of the statue of Marduk to the Esagila and I would appreciate some help with the terminology.

Hukkana: Not an easy subject to investigate at all. Certainly not one I can articulate with any certainty. There are a few basic observations made in the article by Brinkman I have attached to this post. That's a starting point.

Thanks. It's rather difficult to find any information on this stuff. I assume it's out there, just not very easy to actually look up.

Looking this up, this has information on Nippur, but I'd need some information on the priestly structure in Babylon, at least of the Esagila, maybe the names of some court positions in the Kassite period, even if they'd be from a somewhat later period.

Have you checked the entry for Babylon in RlA1 ? There seems to be a lot about the Esagila.
