Get this, I'm doing some ancient history subjects with my online course and emailed someone else doing history. Turns out, shes from another part of Australia, but is doing the same course for the same reason I am - to learn Sumer, even though its not a major part of the course. So I gave her the URL, hopefully, she'll join.

Very nice mein Freund - we needed something for that period for sure! You can definitely see of course, a continuity of the Sumerian cuneiform in their Babylonian successors writing style, and particularly the closeness of the Hammurabi law code cuneiform with the cuneiform from the Gudea Royal Inscriptions is obvious. The law codes themselves are of course in dept to earlier Sumerian precedents, though I've recently read that the 'eye for an eye' doctrine of the Hammurabi code is a carry over from his peoples West Amorite origins hm.
